If it's a new saw and think it will be an ongoing problem, take it back to the dealer - replacement saw or money back. Don't hold your breath though.

 

I often think the definition of the dealer as being ~ You had money, me got money, now bugger off.

 

Apologies to all members who are also dealers.

Well I manage to get it to lock with a tonne of downward pressure when tightening but it's clearly gonna be an ongoing problem. I'll try the dealership next time I'm up there. cheers for the input
