merc sprinter tipper..

looking around for a sprinter seem to be hard to find.has any one got one or used one in the tree game.just wondered if they stand up to the job.most i have seen are single axle just worried that its going to be on its ar@e with a load of chip in.

you dont see them for sale that much i think that is cos the cost of them brand new. I have seen a few around surrey they are fast little trucks

You have to get a 4.5 tonne chassis to get a twin rear wheel. 413cdi or similar. Better off looking at a 50 series Iveco...

merc trucks are the best imo i have a vario its fast pulls well and is ultra reliable.

the merc sprinter when I was at Greenwich council, was a good little truck apart from being ordered/fitted with the wrong clutch. the combo of arb waste and chipper meant it went through clutches like no ones business.

I have one and its great! 311 CDI, factory restricted to 62mph so I know it hasn't been thrashed down the motor-way at over a ton. Pulls fine with a load of chip and chipper. The place where i got mine from have converted another two.

got a 310, good truck and pulls well even when overloaded

got a single axle 331 i think it is, crubbish loaded springs are to soft like a frickin boat going down the road, my transit wipes the floor with it.
