My light pull was boxwood Dean it is a bit like ivory to look at it turns up like glass. I was reading i think in Ians books that turners do not put anything on boxwood.:thumbup:

realy nice bit of walnut david i see you into doing a bit of wood turning i also have a lathe that my dad gave me but i havent had the time to learn the skill yet ,look forward to seeing some of your turning,iam always saving nice bits of wood for the day i get into it

Same here Ben this was day two of my turning career. I have been collecting nice bits of wood and thought this could be a winter hobby for me. It is a stress reliever i was so chilled i nearly fell asleep:lol: I also tried carving a figure of a dog but that is not worthy of a picture:001_smile:

I might be up your way in the not to distant future can give you a few lessons if you want, but you need a faceplate and various other tools first:001_tongue:

Stress reliever......last time i tried carving.....it kept going wrong.....then i cut my thumb on a chisel.....kicked the garage door and nearly broke my toe.
