Drying shed construction.

Instead of cutting lots of blocks why not just use something like a tile baton nailed or screwed horizontally top, bottom and maybe middle, with your vertical boards as is alternating on either side of the tile baton if you see what I mean.

Interesting thread.

I see what you mean. Could also increase the gap to 20 or 25mm and run the horizontal battens over the inner boards.

Another thought. The overlapping boards will make it much darker inside compared to Yorkshire cladding. I've put a fibreglass roof sheet at the opposite end to the open wall and the other roof sheets are white inside which may help a bit.

That has gone up really fast, and looking good. Will you access from the river side? The roof pitch is a bit low for a shingle roof (the lower the pitch the faster they rot) though they do just cost your labour (and fuel). You also need stainless nails for oak shingles.

Really like that idea Andrew , may mesh the front but the weather gets pretty wild up here.

Hey nick ,it will be from the river side it ended up half the size than when we first looked at it and layed the slabs for , I put the half up and realised I would still need double the timber that I had milled I want to save the last few logs of dry Douglas I have for the floor boards in the house... Did you have enough larch boards ?
