Been asked the question by the client and don't actually have a definitive answer. We normally just do it, excersising common sense when close to other trees, shallow grinding if necessary.. Any one aware of any official position?

If it's on a development site then this should be covered in the Arb method statement. If there's no planning condition that specifies a watching brief for all work in the RPA etc then you can probably carry on as before.

Stump removal within the rpa should be by grinding as it causes less root damage as far as I remember. I'll have a look in 5837 as there is defo something written in there

 

Yes. The standard says ground out not grubbed out. I.e. with a digger.
