Pto will not engage but when switched on but its engages the diff lock instead despite being on the pto lever on 540 or 1000 , the diff lock switch still works on the forward reverse but its definitely engaging it on the pto switch as you can hear it click. Any body experience this before , it seems intermittent but for love nor money it would not engage after a break this afternoon.

Miles apart tom , the diff lock switch is on the gear controls and the pto over the right rear arch.. Stop switch ? Where is this CHC ??

It will be a plug you pull out which acts as a kill switch as Tom d says if you stand behind the tractor it will be under the cab window on the right hand side it should have a yellow sticker round it with stop and a pic of a pto and as Tom d says a yellow wire coming out of it give that a wiggle as I would try that befor any thing else

The idea is you tie a bit of string to the wire and yank it out in an emergency if using a static implement. or you could wire it into a stop switch on a processor for example...
