oh don't get me started on HMRC and their corruption customer phone line scam!!

cheers, steve

I've still got a (slowly) trundling on scenario with those Tuesdays... Can't remember which thread it was where we exchanged views previously on HMRC ineptitude?

I took them to tribunal after realising they are thicker than a whale omelette. That was last September, had about 60% success there in PROVING and having a judge declare that they are wrong. Unfortunately, the judge then made a ruling that was blatantly and obviously flawed - I'm no expert but it was plain enough to see - it's now referred to higher tribunal.

There's going to be one hell of a restitution claim when this all gets to a conclusion. I've recorded every error, omission, misrepresentation and BS assertion HMRC have made.

There are a couple of 'direct action' examples I can recall - the farmer that took the muck spreader to the town hall, and a bit more sinister, the bloke in Oxford/Berkshire area that drove his pick-up full of gas bottles into the council office....

Lucky for them the HMRC office I'm obliged to deal with is in Newcastle. (a) I rarely venture North of the Tamar and (b) I think I'd need a passport to go that far North. Otherwise there'd likely be blood on the streets!
