large sweet chestnut

Hi Cornish have some sweet chestnut only a bit maybe 10ton in 3m length ave di 40-90cm not twisted one even maybe over 100cm but I'd have to check. It's roadside in Surrey so maybe a bit far. If your interested could take some pics for you.

awful horsechestnut?

I see, thought you were going to use it for veneers in cabinet work or tables or something. In my experience as a cabinet maker/joiner and tree surgeon horse chestnut is a bitch to dry out without cracking, twisting, cupping ect and when you work it it's soft and snipes badly. But never worked with horse chestnut burrs.
