Had the same thing happen to me when I lived across from a school on a small lane. Came home from work early to find a car on our drive, pulled right up to garage doors, thought someone was trying to turn me over so parked right up behind it, tore into the house to find no one there. Thought maybe it was one of wife's friends so stuck kettle on and sat down with a brew. 10 mins later knock at the door, opened it to a guy going mad at me, screaming he's head off about how's he ment to get he's darling angels back home and then down to the gym, hes doing cage fighting and is going to kick my head in, at that point my 55kg stranger aggressive Rottie started going nuts. He turned a horrible shade of grey and then fled back to he's car. I waved and shut the door. Thought I'd leave him out there stewing for 20 mins and see if he knocks again. 15 mins later door goes, open it to be greeted by a policeman. Asked how I could help and he said the man in the car has made an allocation that my dog had attacked him, I showed the officer my dog and explained what had occurred, how he had been aggressive to me and the dog was trying to protect me, as I'm not a cage fighter like the man had made clear to me. The cop had a hard time not losing it with the guy to be fair for wasting police time, and was threatening to get a recovery truck in as he was trespassing on private property.

The cop came back over and was having a had time not laughing, he asked if I would like to move my car he would escort the man from the property, or if my vehicle wouldn't start he would have to leave the car there and get a recovery truck in at a time the was covenant to myself. Just wanted the head of it so hoped in the disco and moved it out of the way, as I did my dog came out behind me, went up to the cop and wagged he's tail at him, I couldn't have timed it better.

Never saw the car after that, strange that.
