Hey folks bought an 038av off ebay a short while ago, early all alloy body, mostly complete with a new barrel and piston, runs really well but the chain brake band and linkage are missing. Bought the missing parts off ebay (original stihl), but it looks like they are off a newer 038 similar to the setup on my later 028av. Can't find the parts for an older one anywhere so if anyone has a doner 038 i'd gladly buy some bits off you. I could do with a new top plastic but the linkage would be enough to get the saw up and running again.

thanks guys, Aspenarb the top one in the photo is the same as my saw with the alloy body but the band and linkage I bought is off the bottom saw, would you consider selling a few bits? The top cover on mine has a bit of melting on the front edge above the exhaust, rest of it is good but would like a nice clean top plastic if I can get it. getting the saw up and running is priority though. Thanks again folks.
