CODIT - Chemical nature of the walls

hey guys

 

doing an assignment at college on codit and i need to know about the chemical nature of each wall. i know in the first wall there are no chemicals it is just a reaction zone but all i know about the walls 2 and 3 is they are pheonol based and the 4th is suberin based. does anyone have any other information about walls 2-4 and the chemical nature of them and what erach one does?

I would have thought there are cheaper and more up to date books than Shigo's tome by now.

"trees, their natural history" is a good un.

cheers guys i found out using a book i got in the library at college, i think it was called 'Trees, the complete guide to' i cant remember who it was by though. i did have look through 'modern arboriculture' aswell and between the 2 i got my head around it
