the track motor should have a belleville spring to apply the brakes these work backwards from normal brakes its pressure apply to release the brake there are usually tiny multi disc brakes behind the spring that are quite similar in size to motorbike clutches to release the brake there is usually a ball check tee that takes a tapping off the direction hoses to release the brake on most of them the other way of doing it is by holding the motor locked when its not driving and this can cause problems if there is leakage across the motor the easy way to check this is blank off the motor when its chocked on a hill and look at the case drain outlet pull the chocks out and see how much comes out the case drain this separates the leakage across the spool which could be the other problem
