I have a hemlock to fell that is 3-4ft in diameter at the base.

There is decay at the base (why it's being felled) but could be ok further up.

 

Is hemlock any good for milling?

Thanks for the message Al. It's tidy old timber but needs protection for external use. Sounds like a nice chunky tree, have you got any photos?

I'll take some next week when we do it. Going to compare the base with the picus we had done
