Ive done the odd call out the latest Ive finished is 3.30am both times I charged far to less.

Just wondering these things, how do you price for the work, whole job of just time spent per hour say? What sort of contract do you make with the client verbal / written before you start and singed?

When pricing for this do you include not being able to not work the next day if you are all bo$£oxed?

How do you stand on H+S with the working hours where you could have worked all day then the whole crew called out in the evening and work most of the night.

ifor the last part emergency work excludes you from driving hours and working hour probs but emergency work is always a grey area as the road could be closed or building evacuated but have worked all night too many times the worst was 102 hrs with 8 off and ended up poorly and doubt i would do it again

easy peasy - and it was just 2 of us. we cut the whole lot down into the road, cut it all and dressed it out.(road closure in place) reversed the 8 wheeler up to the huge pile and threw it all back into the wood. My timber crane is rear mouted, so makes it great for that type of work. The 8 wheeler was getting a little bulky and long in the tooth, so I've just replaced it with a 6 wheeler. In my opinion, its more usefull than any other piece of kit, even the chipper.
