Working in dry dusty Australia, probably chipping al sorts of tough Gum and ironbark, shagbark etc, and Imron paint peels easily.

Irrelevant? your saying that the Type of material chipped, the ground conditions, the quality of the paintwork, and the capacity of the machine have no relevance to the condition of the paint on the infeed chute?

Whats the air like on your planet?:hmmmm2:

 

On our 24inch machine, the infeed chute was worn shiny within 50 hours....

I've got plenty of experience using big chippers in Oz. The guys using that machine must have been chipping material contaminated with rocks. I count that as abuse - which is what I said originally.

No, you said that the type of use a machine undergoes is irrelevant.

 

On a 12" Bandit, I would say that kind of paint wear is average.

I know this from experience, having owned among other large chippers, a 12" 250xp Bandit.
