I replaced the crappy plastic thrust bearing in my Ifor Williams jockey wheel to a steel one. I sourced the bearing from my local bearing supplier. I had to elongate the hole that the roll pin went through with a round chainsaw file as the new bearing was thicker than the original.

Hope this helps. On another note. Some unpleasant characters stole the trailer last Feb. It was a 14ft trip axle S/No. 446 006 I fitted additional rear side marker lights which if removed would expose drilled holes. If anyone comes across the trailer I would dearly like it back and would happily offer a reward.

Can you remember what the sizes were?

I took the jockey wheel (in bits) to my local bearing supplier, Hayley Group, they are really helpful and measured it up. Sorry I don't have a record of the exact bearing. But I would recommend making the effort to put the steel bearing in, pack it with lots of grease and forget it. ATB
