Ive tried loads of trousers and you sweat your knackers off in all of them, espesially with chainsaw trousers underneath.

Jacket wise ive had my stihl rain jacket for years its never let me down, vents under each armpit for ventilation.

Jacket - Montane Venture (eVent breathable fabric)

Trousers - Ex MOD Hi Viz Gore-Tex

Basically any Gore-Tex or eVent climbing or backpacking gear is the best you'll get. Climbing jackets are ideal for use with a harness for obvious reasons, pit zip for ventilation, pockets above harness level and cut for mobility. Try Berghaus, Montane, Karrimor (make sure it's eVent) Mountain Equipment, all British companies with loads of experience, others? North Face maybe, Mountain Hardwear, Mammut.

Take a look on the Field & Trek or Cotswold Outdoor websites.

IMO avoid like the plague anything made by or sold under chainsaw brand names or anything that claims to be breathable that isn't Gore-Tex or eVent.

I've a Country Covers Fortis smock which is great but at £100.00 is a little rich for some tastes.

I've always fancied looking at a kayakers jacket; it's going to be waterproof with snug cuffs etc.....

Just sat in the truck with kettle on, wetter than a weekend in bognor. So will have a look on eBay now for some ex mod ones, don't you sweat in a kayak cag? My aus jacket has the neoprene storm cuffs etc but it's seen better days!
