Morning all,

Have just obtained landroverdefender td5 (06 Model) with immobilser but not central locking. Turn the immobiliser off the red dashboard lights come on with the key but not the amber lights, (ie glow plugs lights etc). engine spins over fine but not starting. This does not happen all the time and suddenly the amber lights work and she starts on the buttom. However at time if writing it will not cure itselfe. Any help please, Thanks

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies, I contacted an individual landrover company this morning, explained all the above and was given the following advise.

1, On the bulkhead of the inside bonnet is a device which senses if you have been hit, if you have it switches off the fuel pump (and the amber Lights that I spoke of) and stops fuel to the engine. Just push down on the top of this and you will then hear fuel pump working in the tank.

2 If the above does not work, lift drivers seat and just push the relays around, this worked for me, amber lights came on and problem solved. Just goes to show go to the specialists as they seem to know what goes on. Thanks for your replys.
