Looking for a 4.5 - 6t machine in the new year.

Where is the best place to look? I'm keeping an eye out on eBay and Plant trader. Is there anywhere else?

I'm also unsure as to what I should be paying. It's hard to judge compared to cars where there is obviously a more accurate market value.

Want something tidy as the intention is to sell on after about a year, unless another project comes up and I can keep it earning.

Try Cautrac Bolton/Colchester and Molson in Warrington , Molson have some nice straight machines in at moment.

Look for Kubota's in that weight range , has for selling on I am sure you will find plenty of work if you pickup right machine .

Price wise they are not cheap full stop , been 7 years since I bought my last 2ton digger and I am horrified at the prices now .

Links below and browse sites , have dealt with both.

Leicestershire.

I've seen a couple of machines but it's hard to find a comparable to see if the price is right. I'm trying to keep an eye on resale value when i'm done.

What machines have you seen and for what money jim?

I don't think it will matter what you buy, you'll lose very little in 12 months if you buy somewhere near the right price.

Do you have a budget in Mind?

I didn't have a budget in place before I started looking! Do now!

I reckon i'm looking at 15k for something tidy (inc VAT). 10 Years old n all. I'd have preferred around 10k, seems most stuff under that though could be a gamble.

As long as i'm getting most of the cost back, after upkeep etc i'm not really fussed

Prices have shot through the roof over the years , when i bought my Kobelco 7 years ago the market was flooded with low hour imported machines and yards where full of them but with The Japanese Tsunami and Chinese boom that stopped all the imports of low hours machines.

Also the likes of Cautrac who specialise in export too Australia in machines especially near new ones also effected the secondhand market .

My 2 Kobelcos diggers are worth more now than what I payed 7 and 8 years ago .

Plus one for a look at BTE, they are my Kubota dealers.

With regard to machine prices, never a better time to buy? Nothing moving for export, Dealerships needing to shift them, and buyers overlooking lightly used examples to go with new on crazy cheap deals and money being banded about at present.

Going to knock on all down the chain with prices.
