My pick up has chevrons, reg 65 beacons etc, but when are you supposed to use them, working on an A road, B road or all roads. Is it just if your working or is it if you pull into the verge for anything or causing a hazard? I see so many vehicles which look chapter 8 ready but are not using the beacons etc when I would have thought they should? Or is it just a common sense thing when you think you should be more visible?

Have a squint at the bible, there is a bit more to it than the pik@y stripes and flashing lights. Most of it is common sense but the last thing you need when working roadside is to be caught for being non compliant. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/203669/traffic-signs-manual-chapter-08-part-01.pdf
