Hi, I fancy having a go at making some clocks. For those of you that make clocks, where do you get your movements, hands, dials etc from. Have been scouring the web for ages and still carnt tell the difference between all the different movements apart from a great variation in price. I will be making them out of 9,12 and 18mm mdf, for now just to try different ideas that i have. What size spindles on the movements do i need for each of the the above thicknesses of mdf do i need.

Any info at all is much appreciated.

Thanks.

I use stiles and bates as there local to me but they also sell online. They have a great range of movements and also if you call them the customer service is great.

Axminster movements are getting better in quality now and worth a look
