What gets me me they sell these bars and state what saws they fit I got quoted for a 24" bar yesterday by a husqvarna dealer and didn't advise against it. Surely these places should be advising against it. Suprised they didn't try selling me a new saw. I have always taken advice from you guys on here and is much appreciated. I'm stuck now with what to do. I got a lot of wood to cut up on the farm but can't afford a new saw and bar at the same time log sales slow at moment.

An 18" bar will cut 30" + from both sides, When I only had my 266xp any big logs I cut the length required and then turned the log and made another cut and so on. Its a bit slower but rather that than destroying your saw. I tried a 28" bar on the 266xp but it would not have lasted long so bought a 390xp
