Kwikchip euroline 160 bogging down

I have a kwikchip 160 and the engine starts runs and revs up fine but as soon as you engage the flywheel and show it a branch it bogs down and take ages to build up to full speed again.

 

I've changed the fuel filter and fuel pump also had a full engine survice.

 

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on what else it could be

Could well be loose belts

fuel restriction clean out tank and make sure you get a good fuel supply run the engine of a drum of diesel if your in doubt is there a filter in the lift pump

You can't adjust the belts as they are on a canter lever.

 

I've redone the whole fuel system. Pipes, pump and filters.

It only bogs down when you engage the flywheel

Check the belts it should only take minutes and give you peace of mind . They may of stretched or be worn . Have you checked the flywheel sensor ?

As in the stress management sensor?? It's not working that's the next job. The belts are only tensioned with the weight of the engine and it's not on the stop yet so would they cause the engine to bog down ??

Do the belts feel taut when the engine is sat on them? Does the rotor feel that it turns freely enough? What engine is it? Is it a turbo Lombardini with ascrewed turbo? Is the engine breathing okay? Are you 100% sure that the fuel system is good? What kind of fuel pump is it?

It's an old model with the FOCS engine non turbo. The fuel pump I mechanical and has been replaced for a brand new one. The rotor is smooth and free and as for breathing I've checked all the hoses and filters and they are all ok

How many horses is it rated at? Are you sure about the belts? Are the Vee pulleys shiny at the bottom of the Vee? I would have suggested at fuel, belts or maybe the belief that it should be better but you got what you got!

I used to have one!

Make sure you haven't over greased the nipple on the flywheel bearing... I found the grease seemed to find its way onto the belts for the rollers causing them to slip!!
