Converting Predator grinder back from multitip

Never encountered a company that seem so dis-interested.

 

I left an email message via the web site and left a phone message.

 

After a few days I phoned for the fifth time and got an answer.

I was told that the teeth are usually supplied with a cutting wheel only (what about spares for those who buy those????).

He said he would get back to me - ho ho ho no idea how long ago that was.

 

If thats what their service is like I'll give them a miss.

 

I'm not allowed to mention the company but you can track them down via a google search. They specialise in small 'hand held' grinders named after a range of european mountains followed by an oval chocolate covered ice cream starting with M.

 

I'm looking elsewhere

 

 

Only had one commercial transaction a few months ago with them and can only confirm the opposite.

My rhino teeth still sitting in the shed waiting for their first stump, just hadn't the time for comparing.

A friend of mine has the chainsaw driven SG and has had a similar experience. No idea how people like that can stay in business!

Shame as Rhino teeth look like they would be worth a try.

Well, they got back to me today and I will be trying out the rhino teeth on my grinder in the next few days.

 

Assuming they arrive safely - watch this space, I'll report back.

Well I've got to say they are very fast indeed. looks like they leave multi-tip for dead.

 

You can see the difference and feel it - our grinder just went into the stump like a knife through butter. Pushing downwards you can hardly believe the speed. On the slew its similar to multi tip, maybe a tiny touch slower.

 

I used 4 rhinos on the outermost slots and found that leaving the old multitips on the innermost two slots was best for clearing the debris. Just sharpened a couple of the teeth today on the greenstone grinder and it was easy.

 

I just want to test the sharpened teeth now and will report back.

 

Just to confuse things I've fitted greenteeth (1100s) to my rayco 13hp and they too are astonishing. Now I don't know what to do next.

Interesting. Do they fit the multitip keeper blocks or do you have to buy the set?

Are they similarly priced?

 

I'm also finding it difficult sharpening multitip.

I used the rhino keeper blocks but I'll try the muti tip ones and report back.

The Rhino stuff is all laser cut and seems more pecise than the cast multi tip compnents.

 

Because of a few nicks in my flywheel I had to smooth them out with a file first but when it was cleaned up they felt like a really tight fit.

I've just fitted the rhino teeth and wheel to my Vermeer sc252. Massive improvement, cuts quicker, slews quicker, the engine runs much smoother and doesn't tend to bog down. Quick to sharpen too. I'd definitely recommend them.

Just tried and the keeper block seem to be interchangable.

I'll try to post a review of the rhino teeth in the next couple of days.

you are dead right,never met a company that is not interested in helping you,even asking about a new magnum,no interest,
