If you have a bit about 70" long that's fairly knot free I'd be interested in it

Probably not that long mate, I'll measure the biggest bit for you. I'd guess 48-60"

I'll get back to you

Anything over 60" long would be good and 6"/10" diameter reasonably straight as its for flat bows👍🏻🙏🏻

Ok mate, I'll take a look - is it only elm you need?

Posted
Yes please, have plenty of other timber already, just have a hankering to make a holmgaard style bow in its original medium!

Ok, well maybe best if you come and take a look if you're over my way. You might find a bit in the wood more easily than me :thumbup1:

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
