Woodland Agent Required South Wales

Recommended Posts

I am on a farm today between Chepstow and Abergavenny and the owner wants a forestry agent to sort a felling license and to then oversee the thinning/extraction/marketing of timber. It's too far away from my patch to warrant coming back to do it.

He has around 200 acres of plantation/woodland.

Anyone interested PM me and I will pass on your details.

Thanks, Alan.

I think grants are available for this. There may be a local organisation, mine is Northwoods, who would prepare a management plan and apply for the licences and in return they receive the grant available for doing the work. There is a Yorwoods and Cumbrian Woodlands so I would imagine there may be a similar organisation covering your area.

Unfortunately I wont see the bloke ever again. Just happened to be on his land doing a survey on behalf of the FC and he approached me so thought I would use Arbtalk to put him in touch with some people from his area who could help. Maybe the person who does get the call from him will post on here??
