Im looking for a fairly cheap all round saw to get me started, something which will earn me enough money to buy an upgrade and eventually become a back-up saw.

I know Makita and Dolmar are more or less the same saw, but are these two Identical? as there seems to be a big difference in price.

Tim,

Your a cheapskate:001_tt2:

If you wish, I'll order you a saw from Honey Bros which you can work it off in interest free installments.

It will mean that you be up to your oxters in debt and these being dark times if you renage on the deal I'll have to send the Afghan down to Brest.

You won't want that now, he costs a small fortune to feed:laugh1:

Hahaha I didnt save the cash to live the dream in sunny Brittany by spending money willy nilly, several people have commented that I should have been a yorkshireman with my attitude to money! :001_tongue:

People rave about Dolmars these days, looks like a good deal to me, as im hoping one day with the expansion of the business empire it will be relegated to a back up saw. :001_cool:

Thanks for all the help. looking for a good all rounder, since it will be my only saw to start with. Looks pretty impressive for the money, magnesium case, double bar studs and none of this quick tension rubbish.

If anyone has any ideas of other saws that offer better pound for pound performance and build quality, I would love to hear them.
