Chip tip (MM)

I work in Tameside (Greater Manchester) and am finding it increasingly difficult to tip wood chip. Just seeing if anyone knows who to approach for free tipping, or suggestions of what others do. I have been supplying fishing clubs, cemeteries etc, but space is soon filled.. Thanks for any help!!

You could try phoning Stobart's and see if they are buying chip/biomass from anyone in the area.

Also Biffa do a lot of in vessel composting around the UK. Do they have a site near you?

Also people with allotments are always looking for chip but like you say they fill up pretty quickly.

If you have a few logs to give away with it, people like me will take it, although a bit far out of your way in this instance...

Can take as much as you can spare but we are just North of Bolton so haulage may be an issue.

We are not too far away. We are a couple of miles from junction 6 of the M56.

 

We are a working farm that is fully permitted by the EA for chip/green waste etc. Our chip goes to Stobarts.

Thanks for the responses. I'll look up where you are Richard as you're in a viable distance. Tree Station are another I've looked on to. 20 mins away and they take chip so a few good sites have come up over the week.
