Hi David, thanks, I will add some stills when I get the files of a work mate. I don't think the video does the tree justice.

 

The works where a continuation of a planned retrenchment that has been carried out by the company I work for since 2004.

 

The tree is owned by the LA, so it's great that they are keeping up with the schedule and carrying out works annually. The tree is responding very well and is very vigorous. Cheers

Nice vid Sam.

Looks like you initially set your line in the section to be worked rather than going for a central anchor?

Would make a lot of sense in a canopy with a spread like that.

Hi Mark, thanks.

 

I did take a central anchor with a couple of redirects for rigging back the two extended limbs over the garden which enabled me to work the two limbs ( but no suitable high rigging points, so had to try out a "fishing pole" set up, which was a first for me)

 

Although as said, on the other sections to be pruned was able to set lines through the limb, which enabled access straight to the work which was great. Had to have a lot of rope for a basal anchor, fair girth.

Were you fairly rigid with the reduction/retrenchment spec Sam, or did you have the freedom to reduce to where you felt was required whilst up you were up there ?
