Guess it depends on the size of your business. Being quite new we're making do by towing an 8x4 trailer (with CS100 inside) behind a Disco. Of course once the trailers full of chip it needs to be tipped before we can get the cs home. So far its worked but we're looking for a transit tipper (followed by a road tow chipper) to give more capacity so saving tip run time/miles. Oh...& ours isn't even a tipping trailer. All good fun tho' & loving this work.

Similar set up as leswold. If you're on your own you don't want much more as it's a hassle to manage.

Trailer takes a ton so can move chipper and fair bit of chip/wood in one go for small jobs, one of the guys has a 2 ton tipping trailer which I can call upon so between us we're sorted for larger jobs. In any event clients tend not to mind if you leave the chipper on site while you dispose of your chip then come back for it.

The more you've got, the more you've got to worry about. Rather do two trips than have twice the kit.

I run a similar setup as Leswold. I run a 4x4 pickup with a chip box and a 10'x5'6'' ifor williams (non tipping!) trailer. My Greenmech GMR100 (similar to a CS100) sits on the rear of the trailer or can be winched up into the trucks chipbox if i'm chipping on site and don't require the trailer to take chip/logs off site.

The gravity fed CS can be a pain to feed but never having been spoiled by roller fed....

We use it most weekends & carry spare belts as we've shredded a couple when over enthusiastically expecting it to swallow 4" stuff too fast.

When it gets replaced by something bigger we'll keep it for jobs where access is tight. Now back to tipper hunting.

Saw this the other day, might be the sort of thing you had in mind.

Not great photo but it was small TW, the cage side was hinged to allow access to feed hopper (which isn't on it in photo). The chipper was mounted on rails it looked like it was designed so could be put in either way. Chip into be back and tip when done.
