Evening,

Hoping for some advice, I've just sorted a gifted husky 254, apparently it was really temperamental and subsequently thrown to the back of the shed and remained unused for a couple of years!!!

Got it running, found that the fuel tank leaked at the filler, replaced the screwcap with a new one bought from a husky dealer, that also leaks, I think it's leaking between the rubber gasket - has anyone else come across this problem and been able to fix it,

cheers in anticipation

I had this on an old 254 , the original cap had the o' ring type seal , tried a new seal , still leaked then a new cap , same leak . Tried a cap fron a 266 with the seal on the bottom and it worked a treat .

Anyone got a part number for one of these wondrous caps?

Put a slightly oversized o ring on mine and it seals but is a right pain to undo

Cheers for the replies - will chance one from them - £6.00 isn't quite going to break the bank considering I was given the saw!!!!

bobh - I found the shop mentioned above on ebay - was easier than using their site!!
