Thanks Jon your a real star . There's a place here called county supplies and they got a load of bahco and fiskars I may pop over there in and just pick something up to tie me over then get a decent one a bit later on

Done a lot of splitting over in France - all by hand. Big heavy maul and wedges will do it.
