Which Silky pole saw do you professionals use, as I am considering purchasing one. Mainly for lopping of branches that hang low down and can do damage to the tractor(which I have on hire for a month) cab, lights ,mirrors exhaust pipe etc. As you know some branches can bow down from quite a height and can soon do a few quids worth of damage.

I did not know where else to put this thread, so have put here.

we have a hayachi thing and to be honest its not that usefull , hard on the shoulders and if your not cutting right next to the trunk the branch moves about a lot. could you use a ladder or stand on the roof of the tractor?

maybe iam just impatient and used to a powered pole saw, lol

I've got a 6.3 meter Hayauchi that I use keeping branches off the tractors. It's a bit whippy with the fourth section extended , but rarely need to go that high. However it must be a lot more rigid at 3 sections out than the 3 section 4.9 meter pole would be fully extended.
