Dunno if its worth considering a change to a .50" gauge B&C as its slightly heavier & will last longer?

 

The idea came to me whilst browsing tinterwebs and saw this Youtube video which explains the change over really well

I find 3/8 p the hardest chain size to sharpen, when you have done a tooth get on eye level with the curve of the tooth and check you have a curve and not a straight tooth. I find it so easy, and I use stihl file guides, to file the tooth straight. Especially when tired and cold.

That is interesting... Will certaining consider when bar needs replaced.

Did this conversion from 0.043" to 0.050" for our also 30cc saw, the MS192C-E.

 

Liked the more robust Oregon 91VXL so much better than the original PMMC3 tiny one.

 

However, you need your MS192 adjusted well to handle the heavier chain, and not go over 12" max bar length.

 

Ultimately, I valued the better 0.050" PS chain over the extreme lightweight of the MS192, so I sold the MS192 and went for a 35cc saw instead.
