It's river cane - in the right place it's great but does spread. I could do with a load here to hide a security fence

 

My bamboo was around 20' tall, if it isn't this size then considering it's proximity to the river............sort of makes sense!

 

It is now around 2" tall:thumbup::lol:

none of the indocalamus grow much above 3-4 foot. They are pretty aggressive and on wet soils will spread rapidly. I grow four different species which don't run much as my soil is fairly dry and have been stable for the 10 years I've had them. Are you looking to control it or admire it???

The smaller bamboos are pretty easy to cut to the ground with a strimmer or metal bladed version. Digging them out is hard work but spraying the regrowth is manageable but maybe difficult by water. Even with digging out you will never get all of it, so spraying is the only option, unless you can return each year for 3-4 years and strim it each time.
