Dean is now the man to ask, the machine on the landy is mine, had it from new and its about 18 mths old, the photos are only a few weeks old, its been my baby and ernt me a mint, not done many hours, its in great condition, and Dean has given me a great deal on a new one, and a Bandit hb20n , i have a fetish for all things new, never normally keep anything more than a year old, and normally just for the hell of it, try something else, but the Jo Beau has just been fantastic, and the resid value made the whole deal a no brainer, it reaches the parts other grinders can not, grinds deeper and does not break down, its weight should also be considered, at around 600kg it can be ramped on top of retaining walls, from the back of the landy i have put it on a 7' wall, and its worked of the footing walls of new build without damaging the new walls :thumbup1:

This is the stump being ground off the footings of the new build, my old Predator would have gone through the pellet and the wall, look at the face of the grind, thats using Reds, sharp clean cut.

Not many grinders would cope with a stump that high unless you went real big like a 7015 which is what I'm having to get in to do some real big ugly high stumps next week.

Just got a Hb20 but if funds had allowed the extra would have seriously consider the jo beau especially since global are now the dealer and not btrac.

Very nice looking set up with the landy jess, look very pro.

Please explain "reds"

see if this works

All series of Greenteeth are made with an option for two different styles of teeth:Red and Green. The red teeth have a deeper concave dish on the carbide tip, making them more aggressive. The red teeth are recommended in situations where there is less than 25% rock in the ground. The green teeth, on the other hand, have a more shallow dished concave carbide tip, making them more durable, especially when the teeth come into contact with rocks. The green teeth are recommended in situations where there is more than 25% rock in the ground.

Try this link, and really i find as long as you are careful when grinding and spend a little time preparing the stump they last just as long, i always turn and rotate teeth around, its the 3 pairs of cutters that do most of the work as they begin to slightly wear i swop them with the secondary cutting teeth so the secondary ones are also good and fit new chisels to the main cutters, but all only as they become dull. The inner teeth last a long time as all they do is clear and cut sideways. The other thing is you grind a little differently. I start grinding some distance in front of the stump and progress forward at a more steeper angle on reds at makes very good progress . About 30% of my work is finishing work which other stump grinders have not been able to do, where clients have not been very happy with someone elses grinding, i grind deep and wide . To get good height you can allow mulch to build up in front of the tracks, and to go deep clear mulch from the front tracks every now and then.

Thanks for that, for me its not so much about having a large hp grinder, its all to do with the places i can get it, the other thing you can always hire a big grinder, i don't really do any large site clearance work as developers are amongst the worst to pay and make you wait the longest, i find in and out and money paid on the day is best.
