I'm lucky I live near Merrist Wood, end of last year I was trimming a hedge and the hedge cutter started smoking. (saying this I do look after it) Quick trip to the machinery dept, bit of grease , problem sorted and back to work.

If I'm doing a lot of trimming, I carry an ordinary oilcan filled with bio-chainoil, and just a couple of squirts at breaktime keeps it lubed up, especially if you doing a lot of wet weather trimming.

You need to grease every 10 hours.

Agreed, wasnt trying to replace the greasing, just that I oil the blades if I'm doing a lot of trimming, esp in wet weather, got to help the blades to last.

Agree! I also clean off the blades with a little fuel.
