Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I have an oak tree that came down in a gale last February and I would like to have it milled.

Please let me know if you know any one who could handle it.

Main section is 13 foot long and 3 foot diameter,

Have a forklift available to lift it . many thanks

Rory

At the dimensions stated it'll go on a trailer easy enough won't it? (π x r² x length gives a volume near 2m² x 800kg/m²=only just over 1.5t) Would probably be a bit cheaper and more efficient (less wastage) if you can get it to a "proper" mill.

If you want it milled on-site, I have an Alaskan mill that'll cut that, am currently on a job near market feeling so PeBo isn't too far.

I could come and cut it for you with my Lucas mill. If it's just that one stick it's half a day. So £200 to cut it plus 25p a mile to travel. I'm around 60 miles away so £30.

I can either slab it or cut it into dimensional timber for you or a bit of both.

Unless you have a really good place to stack it, I would recommend waiting till September to cut it to give it more chance to dry slowly. I couldn't come till mid April mind anyway.

Feel free to PM me if you want to book something in. Cheers

James
