Fencing qualifications..?

Experience is the .most important factor, too many people have a knocker and wire stretcher and declare themselves as fencers,

I spent 5 years working with a contractor, I was brought upon a farm, and have worked at auctions marts for over 20 years, so I'm aware of livestock behaviour,

Do you know the places livestock are inclined to gather,?

Do you know which breeds are more liable to be wild,

Do you know the best position for gates,

This may seem trivial or pedantic but it is part of the job,

Also be aware your reputation good or bad will travel farmers gather together at marts and agri suppliers.

Not trying to piss on your chips but these are important factors,

I've been trading on my own for 5 years, and am still learning and building my customer base.

I fence, It's the last thing to need a qualification that I do. I will not be doing it if I can help it. Quite frankly in my opinion/experience education of this sort just ticks boxes.

I've done cpc for large good vehicle, spent days doing chainsaw. I could teach a good student to use chainsaw safely and effectively in 2-3 hours.

What works in the teaching world is too confined to world in the real world and fencing has to many variables to have set rules.

Watch, do and learn, is the best way.

I agree with everyone else, no better qualification than doing the job! Don't waste time and money on another qualification just for a piece of paper. I've been fencing for 6 years and i've had some people doing qualification either fencing near to where I'm working or working for me and the results I don't think warrant saying they are qualified. Stick to doing the job no better qualification than saying you've installed thousands of meters of fencing.
