Interpretation of sub-category 3 within BS5837 (questionnaire)

Hi All,

 

I'm conducting some research as part of my professional diploma into how arboriculturists interpret the British Standard and use sub-category 3 for assessing the bio-diversity values of trees when undertaking BS5837 surveys.

Done, for reference, if I saw avenue like that I'd CONSIDER recording each one individually in the sense that each tree gets a number, but would give average dimensions and then walk the group to see if any crown spread, diameter of trunk or height were considerably different. I'd also mention any significant features. This would enable each tree to be individually annotated, whilst also not spending silly amounts of time on measuring trees which MAY have quite similar features and dimensions. I.e a line of Lombardy poplar for instance.
