MS200T chainbreak

Anyone else noticed how flimsy the chainbrake handle is on the 200T?

 

I have snapped another one now, only lasted 3 months:mad1:

 

Bleedin things keep snapping where they push into the side casing, the bit that can jump out now and then.

 

I have had to stick on an old trusty one which is off an 020 from 1998!

 

They just dont make em like they used to.

yeah, theyre crap, went through 3 in about 2 months, then suddenly, this one has lasted 6 or more touch wood

Is it because your so strong they break when you push it on after cutting?!

 

We go through them quickly too, I found less get damaged when they are clipped to a carritool on the harness when climbing rather than when the guys were letting it swing around or cutting then dropping the saw!

I would like to think so

 

BUT, unfortunately no if you look at the plastic it has something like triangle wedges cut out where it breaks off. The older ones have more plastic in that area therefore lasting longer.

by any chance do you clip the end of your saw strop to your chain break ??? i found that the chain breaks were getting broken on my ms200's but when i asked the guys to keeep the saw up short when climbing and do not clip the end of the saw strop into the chain break i have not had one break in over 8 months

Do you mean clip the chainbreak onto the carritool or the lanyard onto the chainbreak?

I've only ever broke one when I dropped the saw 40ft out the tree.

 

You lot are just a heavy handed set of roughnecks

i broke mine the other day as well as my chain break band, i only relised when i replaced the band then found the other part broken!!
