The worm gear doesn't need changing, it's already set up for both drums

 

550xp and 560xp both use 505 20 08-01,562xp uses 577 54 81-01

Thinking of going 3/8 finally. What do I need to buy. Prob 18". I know sprocket, bar and chain lol. Just what are specifics. Thinking of trying sugihara as my husky bar just can't cut the mustard!!

No, I mean that the worm gear has slots for the large and small splined drums, it doesn't need to be changed, just the drum

If your cutting all day ,go for a oregon pro lite but a Sugi if you want a bar that will last a life time and the little bit of extra weight and cumbersomeness does not bother you.

Our 560s run 3/8 and I'm pretty sure it was just the sprocket that was changed. I keep meaning to try one of them on an 8 tooth to see how it cuts.... I also keep meaning to send one of the 365s to Spud for porting,
