And?

There was an accident?

I presume not, but why should we presume there should be?

Having formed an opinion that most Polish workers who came to the UK, were competent in their choosen fields.

PS

About 1981 the MT Sergent asked who could drive an HGV, I said I could, he agreed and I did, including it must be said a spot of highway driving I had not anticipated.

But by then I had gotten the hang of the rather sharp air brakes.

Needless to say I did not actually have an HGV Licence.

Albert, the MT Sergent, was properly apoplectic when I returned, quite safe and immoderatley pleased with myself.

The pax in the back were not so impressed!

I may have the wrong end of the stick but how does that help the contractor improve. I would have thought that would just move the problem on to another site. The owners /managers may not realise the staff have deviated from the paperwork . Hence people who work in h&s are sometimes viewed as gestapo hell bent on putting people out of work.

Ok - it was a bit tongue in cheek, but these guys? Yehaw, ride'em cowboy!!

There is a big big h&s problem here if a the ganger allowed this (probably in the cab with tab and costa as a priority), the guys themselves thought it was allowed without a care in the world and the driver(who personally gets the points fro the RTA breach was thick enough to do it!

I have solutions both for clients and the contactors, I can change people. But it is too long a story for here. I am sure if we put a poll up most would agree with my buckaroo comment.
