£435!

Sachs Dolmar 166 on eBay (end time 21-Jul-09 20:16:11 BST)

If I'd actually needed a big beast like that and it was in better nick I might have paid that for it but, for all you know the winning bidder might have had a max bid much higher! One day...!

Bet the winner was a Yank of German.

The biggest problem with the 166 is rarity of repair parts . Fact is I know of two others for sale at this time .

The 166 Sachs-Dolmar has a mystique about it almost like the 090 Stihl ,SP 125 McCulloch and 2100 Homelite . Fact is I own both the big Mac and Homey and have operated the big Stihl and Dolmar . To be quite truthfull of the four the Stihl is the slowest and likely the other three are nearly the same in stock unenhanced condition .

A nice saw perhaps to own but keeping in mind like all old classics repairs if needed might be quite costly .

i bidded on it but lost :(

i was one of the people who pm'ed him about shipping straight away.

would have loved to have that, to build up my working dolmar collecion, we have one of the first (by that i mean first batch of dolmars) to come into the country :)
