Pfanner stretch air - failure :-(

It's that old Ford Escort or a Ferrari scenario again though isn't it? Nobody is forced to buy the most expensive PPE kit there is, but to get the benefits of, for example in this case, Stretch-Airs, you have to pay more for it. Simple!

 

A cheap pair of Windsor Chainsaw Trousers would essentially do the same job, i.e. protect the user from chainsaw cuts, but you pay more for the comfort and design with Stretch-Airs (and the other premium brands).

 

Just in the same way that a Ferrari will get you from A to B in the same way that a Ford Escort will, but if you want the bells & whistles, you gotta pay for them!

The ferrari looks and feels better but the escort is way more reliable and wont fall apart when its used

 

Personally I would expect that since the stretch air are at the very top end of the price range that they should be comfortable AND durable.

i get 2 years out of mine and they are in reasonable condition at that age still......most i ever used to get out of the older style fabric trousers was 9 months, by that stage they'd be ripped to shreds and id look like a tramp. maybe im just lucky, but i will certainly keep buying them

My mate swears by wearing a set of ex-army Lightweights over his ballistics- gets years out of them,and if the crotch goes on the ballistics, who cares. It sort of comes down to whether you are up a tree to work on it or to show off the latest fashions in arb-ware.

 

I get a good couple of years out of hi-flex stihls.

well chaps , i recieved my replacment pair of type c stretch airs last tuesday i wore them weds,thurs and today , and to my supprise (not) the stitching has gone just beneath the zip so will be calling justin tomorrow , has anyone elts had this happen . you would think that the areas that will sufer most wear on a pair of triusers designed for climbers would be re inforced . this time i think the stitching has gone as there is no sign of dammage to the fabric but honestyl come on pfanner get it sorted

 

oh and yes i have only worn braces with these !!!!
