I'm amazed at peoples' generosity on this forum offering their saws to a newbie here. I may be buying an old saw elsewhere but if that falls through them I will certainly take up an offer.

Thanks for all your help - picked up an old Homelite 111cc with 28" bar today for little money, fired her up and you could instantly feel the power in it - was the first big saw I had back in the 70's - heavy but built to last ... lol
