08 or 09 Timberwolf 150

Hope this doesnt sound like a silly question, we bought a new timberwolf 150 in may 09 the plate on the chipper said date of manufacture may 08, and in the paperwork we had with it one of the checks done on the machine was 07,what id like to know is in a few years time if we wanted to sell it or trade it in, what year machine will it be. buying a new chipper in 09 should we have had an 09 machine,also i noticed in the AA show that the new TWs had a better looking exhaust system, thanks in advance for any feedback.

go back to the dealer & get it checked out it may just of been old stock

I bough t one end of march this year and the plate said june 2008.

 

I spoke to the dealer and they said there is a backlog of stock due to a slow down in sales. Theres not much that you can do, its perfectly normal for them to do it. Its like this 2000 quid scrapage for old cars, its just a desperate attempt to clear back log.

 

I think you should sell it as a 2009 or at least "in service 2009".

 

I do wonder though, if you bought it due to lookign at them at the trade show and then you got an older one then you would or should be able to complain.

 

I hope they did you a good deal, if the backlog is that big they should be keen to sell them! I paid 11k for mine and they chucked in 2 extra sets of blades and a 2 yr warranty.

yes i think that check dated 07 was something to do with the engine, they done us the same price as well and 2sets blades and 2 year warranty, cheers

I was abit gutted when I saw the date plate, my last one was only 2 months old!

 

Date in service and hours are what really matters, plus if you trade them in within say 4-5 years then I guess you'll go back to the same dealer and part ex it, in which case they should believe you!

 

If you are keeping it until its a hangin old wreck (6 years, just kidding) like 10 years old and then selling it for 1000 quid then a few months here and there won't make much difference.

You can see why 2000 quid is not much incentive for people to get rid of an old perfectly ok car just to go into more debt to buy a Honda thats been sat in a car park for over a year!

i was thinking that my self you buy a new car thats been sat outside in a carpark for god knows how & is now out off date
