Just been out and a bout and spotted this lovely old beech. The old pruning wound to the left of the F/B is host to a bees nest (I think you can just spot them in the pics) waiting to catch an un-suspecting Arb out no-doubt!

Did you nose around the dysfunction at the base?

 

 

 

Always find it interesting to see the variation in fruiting times with fungi across the country.

 

These dryads were taken at the back end of May.

No targets David (unless you count the odd L/A Arb) There’s a lot going on around the base – I’ll get some pics when I’m passing next.

David dryad's saddle seems to come out at different times, get a little bit of rain or damp and there comes some more FB. We had some rain last week and i have spotted several new ones at the base of ash:001_smile:

That looks like a large fruiting body, its huge! Nice picture, this tree ear marked for removal?
