Haha, ok.

 

Do you pay rates on the buildings then?

 

From my understanding commercial buildings pay rates, forestry doesn't?

 

no rates,only have a small log shed,somthing to do with rentable value ,if its under £5k, no rates thats what the l.a told me ,but id yr l/a on that 1,

Under 6k rateable value don't pay business rates, probably 5% of log yards only pay, I'm one of them!

I also pay.

 

Iam looking to take on a second yard, and paying twice will be a bit of a killer.

I want the business to grow, and its hard enough in this industry.

 

If there is a legal way to keep my overheads to a minimum, iam interested, if not, there is less of an incentive to expand.
