Do remind me of that very 'sharp' question you asked about LOLER n whether something was "should" or "must" as I don't think I followed it up.

im not %100 on this but i think it was about daily check of climbing kit, whether it should be or must be checked according to Industry guidelines on a daily basis or weekly .cheers paul

Hi, thanks for the reminder.

 

Having just re-read the LOLER ACOP (updated version) whilst the regs. don't use the word 'must' in relation to pre-use inspections, neither do they use the word 'should' but the associated guidance does and clearly implies 'must'.

 

So, does that answer your question?

 

Suffice to say you should always undertake pre-use inspections of your climbing kit etc. prior to use, and of course it's in your best interest to do so, most importantly
